Canopy Walkway
A series of seven suspension bridges extending approximately 333 to 350 meters in total, suspended about 27 to 40 meters above the forest floor. It's the most famous attraction in the park, offering a thrilling view of the rainforest canopy.
Guided Nature Walks
Daytime guided tours through the forest, led by trained park rangers who highlight the park's biodiversity, including medicinal plants, trees, and smaller animals.
Night Walks / Night Tours
Evening hikes into the rainforest allow visitors to experience the park’s nocturnal life, with the chance to hear or spot night-dwelling creatures such as civets, bush babies, or owls.
Children’s Playground
A safe, designated area for children, featuring a mini canopy walkway, swings, and other child-friendly amenities to allow families to enjoy the park together.
Evening Cultural Performances
On certain evenings, local cultural groups perform traditional drumming, dancing, and bamboo flute music near the visitor center — providing guests with a taste of the local artistic traditions.
Visitor Center
The park’s visitor center features educational exhibits about rainforest ecology, conservation, and the cultural history of the area. It's a good place to start your visit and learn before exploring the forest.
Restaurant and Cafés
There are on-site eateries serving a mix of Ghanaian and continental dishes. Menu options often include fufu and light soup, Jollof rice, grilled meats, fruit juices, and local drinks like sobolo.
Souvenir and Gift Shop
A small shop near the entrance offers handmade crafts, textiles, carvings, and other locally produced souvenirs. It is often supported by artisan cooperatives from surrounding communities.
Camping Facilities
Ground-level Platforms (Afafranto Campsite): Basic camping with raised wooden platforms. Campers usually bring their own gear.
Rainforest Top Hill Campsite: Offers a tent, sleeping pad, early morning canopy walk access, and guided hikes.
Tree House Accommodation: A more unique experience, where guests can sleep 20 meters above ground in a wooden tree house equipped with bedding and mosquito nets. Suitable for adventurous travelers and groups.
Wildlife and Bird Watching
The park is home to hundreds of bird species and several elusive mammals like forest elephants, duikers, and monkeys. There are guided birdwatching walks available for enthusiasts, especially early in the morning.
Trail System
Several walking trails are available, including the well-known “Sun Bird Trail.” These trails pass through different forest zones and offer the chance to see ponds, butterflies, birds, and rare trees.
